The Unbelievable Truth is a Melbourne three-piece alternative/post-punk style band with a slightly dark edge, but with catchy melodies and danceable rhythms. Along the lines of The Smiths or Joy Division. They have been described as "Kinda like a modern Depeche Mode".

Named after the cult film by American auteur filmmaker Hal Hartley, The Unbelievable Truth began as a project by Bradley Hunter in 2010. Bradley was periodically joined by guest musicians to record and perform songs written solo and with various bands since 2007.

Through a fusion of 80s post-punk and New Wave, and 90s Grunge, The Unbelievable Truth draws on a diverse influence of artists, such as Joy Division, Nick Cave, Ed Kuepper, Echo & The Bunnymen, and The Cure to name but a few.  Focusing on passionate heartfelt lyrics and strong vocal melodies, front man Bradley uses uncomplicated rhythms and chord progressions to bring forward the shining core of these songs, allowing him to hold an audience in solo mode or with a full band.
